(7's coming soon). What I want from a "Real Social Networking Site".

While doing my research for (7s local) I figured out what most of the general population wants. Including some niche groups, below are a “few” of the things I found.
Ease of use and easy navigation.
They want a site that is easy to use and navigate. Facebook was pretty good in the beginning but then, they kept changing things and moving things around. I still can’t find things on Facebook half of the time. The search engines: Google, Yahoo, are better but lacking in many ways. At 7s local we are going to give you easy navigation as well as make it easy for you use and understand. “Facebook users have been very vocal about protesting the latest changes to the social networking site, which were rolled out earlier this month. Some wondered whether or not the company would even respond at all, after it was reported that CEO Mark Zuckerberg told employees that “the most disruptive companies don’t listen to their customers.””  http://mashable.com/2009/03/24/facebook-responds-to-criticism-over-latest-redesign/
What! I thought the customer was always right?
Privacy.
People want their privacy, but they also want to share certain things with certain people. Facebook has never done this right. They keep changing it and not telling their users, so you have to constantly go into your settings and re-adjust them. Which makes most people, including me, not trust them. They even said publicly “If you don’t want your information public, don’t post it.” Elliot Schrage vice president for public policy at Facebook said this: “Joining Facebook is a conscious choice by vast numbers of people who have stepped forward deliberately and intentionally to connect and share. We study user activity. We’ve found that a few fields of information need to be shared to facilitate the kind of experience people come to Facebook to have. That’s why we require the following fields to be public: name, profile photo (if people choose to have one), gender, connections (again, if people choose to make them), and user ID number. Facebook provides a less satisfying experience for people who choose not to post a photo or make connections with friends or interests. But, other than name and gender, nothing requires them to complete these fields or share information they do not want to share. If you’re not comfortable sharing, don’t.”

We want you to trust us and 7s local to give you back your privacy and help you keep it private if you want. “7’s” will tell you if we are making changes before we make them. We also don’t want your data, it’s yours you keep it. If you decide to delete your account, we will send you all of your information back to you. “7’s” will give you your privacy and let you share where you want and when you want. As well as try to help you reclaim what you have already given out.
More Privacy.
People don’t want their email addresses, or other information given out to advertisers or application Developers or any 2nd; 3rd parties to have this information. Facebook, has allowed App. Developers and advertisers as well as 2nd; 3rd parties access to this information including your phone #’s.
Allowed App. Dev. to make it so you have to enter your email address or phone # to use the application. Hello, this is my information, I want it back!
We are not and I repeat are not going to give App. Dev. access to any of your information with out your consent. If you want to share this information with them, then that is up to you, it is not going to be automatic that we share this information with “Anyone”. We will tell you “Up front” what information we will be sharing and with who and why we are sharing it. So, you have a choice to opt out. We plan to help App. Dev. in other ways, but we are not going to give them your information. Who thought up that bright idea?
Stopping the worms and viruses and spam to my email addresses.
Facebook does not seem to care about it’s users or if their users computers get a worm, virus, spyware or their emails get filled with spam. http://www.zizish.com/how-to-avoid-the-latest-round-of-nasty-facebook-worms/ Oh, yeah or if they got their accounts hacked. They seem to allow anyone to add an application or advertisement as long as they get their cut of the money and not check the validity of where the application or advertisement came from. (Note, I love my Macintosh.) I am sure most of you have got the email or messaged or posted on your wall. “Check out my video, it’s hilarious”. Only to click on it and later your computer is all messed up. This is an easy fix; but Facebook did not (last I checked) care about helping you the user by stopping this before it affected your computer. (I think they went with Zynga’s (the game you are playing on Facebook) business model: Just make money any way you can).
Honest Adverting.
Since we are talking about adverting, I will tell you what I hate. I hate scam adverting. http://techcrunch.com/2009/06/21/facebook-click-fraud-enraging-advertisers/ Recently, I clicked on some advertisement that said “Free credit report” only to have it tell me I have to pay $24.95 a year for it. Um ... it’s suppose to be free. But, I already know where to go to get it for FREE. 3 times a year. (https://www.annualcreditreport.com/cra/index.jsp) I also hate, going to a website business, only for them to ask me to fill out a form so they can give me a quote or send me more information. http://www.smh.com.au/news/technology/web/facebook-took-ads-for-getrichquick-scam/2009/02/26/1235237798521.html In the end they will just spam my email or call me forever. Phoenix Schools did this too me, I filled out their online form to get the cost of classes and what their classes offered. Still 5 years later they are calling me; bugging me. Go away already. 7s local plans to give you “Real” advertising that is not bogus and tells you the price of things before you go to the actual site. And at places you would shop. How ? You’ll see. : ).
Helping you the user and your community where you live.
I think it is great that Google, Yahoo, Facebook, probably even Twitter and I am sure a thousand others jumped on the band wagon to set up buttons that said “Donate to Haiti.” I admit that the Haitians really need it and it is a very nice thing to do.  But right now and for a while now your local community (mine is America) has been in serious economic trouble. I think it is about time that we take care of ourselves. I personally will not go to some other country to adopt a child. 7s local is going to help you, yes you, as well as your local schools, local businesses and your local communities where you live. We will try to create jobs to help people and their communities.
“Help yourself, then you will have the means to help others.” Isn’t that the motto?
Helping you as a person and making your life easier.
I really wish a company with lots of money would try to help you become more productive in your real life and make it easy to find this information. Google has done a lot towards this endeavor, yet most people don’t know half the stuff that is on Google or know where to find it. I know lots of companies have done things to make our lives easier, but we don’t know or use half of them. 7s local is going to start small in this endeavor and grow, to share with people, common knowledge that it would take them forever to find on a search engine; we plan on making it easy to find “honest” information that will actually help you in your daily life, your community and your world. How? Well I can't give everything away. :)
I don’t need a 2 million dollar a year paycheck.
Lastly, I want you to know that I personally do not need a 2 million (+) dollar pay check a year to survive on. I personally think that the people that do, need some serious counseling, be fired or need live in the real world. 7’s local is for the people, our users. 7’s plan to give back to you, the individual and your community and helping you in various ways with OUR profits. Yes, we have to make some money but lets get real people and give back to the people paying your paycheck. Hopefully, we can teach the 2 million (+) dollar paycheck man/woman (or large corporations) to give back to the real people that are actually keeping him/her (them) rich and not just donating to some “cause” so he (they) can have a sweet write off at the end of the year. http://money.cnn.com/2009/04/05/news/top_ceo_pay/index.htm  We plan on paying forward some of our profit to you the user.
When is 7s local Coming?
Soon. The donation site will be up soon. We will only be asking for $30,000 which will pay for programming of the site, research, server space etc. That is only 300 people donating $100 each.
If we get more that would be awesome, because with only $30,000 it will be only a barebones company, but I will take that $30,000 and make it happen if I need to.
I am only asking for the $30,000 so I can actually get the site up and running. I believe in this idea so much that, with only $30,000 I will probably have to sacrifice my pay for the 1st and possibly the 2nd year just to get it going. I am really hoping we will get more then the $30,000 donations I am seeking. But if not, I am just happy if we reach the 30,000 dollars to get the site up. It will be amazing once it starts. : ).
So, these are only a few of the things that “7s” has planned for you. I want you to know we have more planned but I cannot share everything with you or some company will come and take our ideas and use them and ...  I’m sorry ... did I say use them? I meant “Miss use them,” for their own profit not yours.
Thanks for taking the time to learn more about 7s local. We hope to make your life better in many ways. Please donate to help us, help you. Take Care.
Sincerely,
Lance Damon Bliss (7’s Founder)

This Sounds amazing. It seems you have done your research too. I have gotten tired of Facebooks promises. Good Links too. I can't wait to see it happen. I will donate when the site comes up.
